I was born in Jacksonville, NC and am of Japanese and American descent (whatever that is! )
My mother, Noriko Kunishige was very proficient in charcoals. Her father sang classical Japanese, her uncle carved traditional Kabuki and Noh masks...well you get the picture...art is in my genes.
I had gone to North Carolina Central University for Fine Art and studied Japanese Language at UNC Chapel Hill.
My work has been exhibited at the Durham Arts Council, Cup A Joe in Chapel Hill, Black Station Gallery and self produced art exhibitions.
I produced community art exhibitions from 1993-2002, under the name of Triangle Concepts, with then business partner and fellow artist, Ray Tolan and the support of many local businesses.
After a 7 1/2 year hiatus, I have found time to return to one of the things I enjoy most, my art.
I am married to Jerry Marks, I can't tell you what he calls me affectionately. I have 2 dogs, Llibby (pronounced "Yibby"), Harley and 1 cat named Allie. The oldest of 5, I have 3 brothers and 1 sister, all of whom are artists or artisans and have many nieces and nephews that I adore!
Last, but not least, I am very fortunate to have the great friends that I have. You all know who you are!
